Anybody's game

On October 25, Daniel and I headed down to Provo with a bunch of people from our ward to watch Boise State play BYU. It was kind of an informal YM activity -- I think the entire Teachers quorum but one was on the trip, plus several other people from the ward.

The trip down was mostly uneventful except for a flat tire on one of the vehicles right about Ogden. While the tire was being fixed some of us went into town and got lunch/dinner at In-N-Out, then we got back on our way.

The traffic started getting really heavy as we got off the freeway in Orem. It was amazing how many Idaho cars with BSU flags there were. A lot of people drove down to see the game.

We drove right to the stadium, parked, and headed into the game.

This was Daniel's first college football game, and the first time I've been since I was at BYU.

Buster Bronco was there working the crowd.

The marching band plays the BYU fight song while the ESPN guy interviews somebody (another ESPN guy?) on camera.

A big Y.

The Broncos take the field.

Daniel is excited.

A big stadium full of people.

It was nice of the special events staff to wear BSU colors. A year earlier this would have been Rachel.

Looking over the crowd toward Rock Canyon.

These guy kept running around the field with the giant flags.

A big stadium full of people, after it got dark.

I'm not sure I ever figured out the point of this giant tent-like enclosure they built during one of the breaks, but it was kind of cool.

After the game we met up with J.J., a friend from Tokyo who's a BYU student now.

Finally, here are some random football photos.

It was fun. I think Daniel enjoyed it.

Did he enjoy it because he was rooting for BYU? :)

I think he enjoyed it because he didn't care that much who won. :)
