Spirits In The Material World

We had a really low-key Halloween this year. The weather was so warm that it didn't really seem like fall yet, and Rachel is gone so things are kind of weird anyway, and then Halloween was on Sunday. So, we didn't really get into it, decorate much, or even carve pumpkins.

This is us at the ward "trunk or treat" party. Lisa is a vampire (you can't really tell from the photo, but she's all Twilight sparkly). Yumiko is a blonde witch. Daniel is a terrorist cowboy watermelon slice that roots for the Brasil team in the World Cup. Yeah. Andrew is "home being lame". I'm behind the camera.

Sunny got into the dress-up spirit, though.

Due to the lack of family photos, here are a few random shots of some costumes I thought were particularly interesting at the ward party and at work. We have...

...a family of crayons...

...a robot...

...a vending machine...

...and a commercial pilot.

The stick man...

...and his stick girl wife...

...and some Vikings.

Work was fun. We have several employees who like to really go nuts with costumes. Unfortunately, they were out of town this year, so things weren't as crazy as usual. But we still got some fun ones, and even better some geeky ones.

Who are these two supposed to be??? (Answer in the photo below.)

(For extra fun, see what it says on their bags. They got a lot of fun reactions like "Hey, you guys are ninety degrees out of phase!" Ha ha! Engineer humor.)

And my favorites for the year, my boss...

...and his wife. They do a pretty good Kirk and Rand.

The costumes were his wife's idea -- she's a bigger Star Trek fan than he is.

The phaser and communicator are mine, by the way. Yeah, I'm a TOS geek. But I'm not the only one!
